When your Portuguese residence permit is close to expiring, it must be renewed with AIMA (the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum). We handle the renewal for you through the official Portal das Renovações when your legal basis is unchanged (€250), or coordinate the in-person route when your legal basis has changed (€600).

Timeline: Online submission is typically completed within a few business days of receiving your documents; AIMA processing times vary and are outside our control, so the renewed permit itself can take several weeks to months to be issued.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the €250 and €600 option?
The €250 online renewal applies when your legal basis is unchanged and can be filed through the Portal das Renovações. The €600 in-person option applies when your legal basis has changed and an in-person process is required.
Can you renew a permit that has already expired?
Often yes, within the permitted grace period. Send us your details and we will confirm whether online renewal is still possible for your case.
Do you guarantee the renewal will be approved?
No. This is a facilitation service: we prepare and submit your renewal correctly and represent your file, but the decision rests with AIMA and cannot be guaranteed.
How much is the government fee?
The AIMA renewal fee is approximately €68 and is paid by you via the DUC we provide. It is separate from our service fee.
